Election Commission Launches Smartphone App

Lebanon, TN –The Wilson County Election Commission launched a new Mobile App that allows voters to check their registration status, locate their polling location, view the Election Commission’s website and keep up with the wait times at the Early Voting sites. The app was built by Lebanon resident Jeff Westbrook- a student at Vol State and an intern with the Election Commission.

“This new mobile app is a great resource to share information about elections and voting with Wilson County voters. Media and technology continue to evolve and we recognize the need to meet the challenges of communicating with a growing county,” said Phillip Warren, Administrator of Elections.

The app, Wilson County Votes, is available as a free download on both Android and iPhone smartphones from either the Google or Apple Stores.

“Mobility is becoming a necessity for easy access of election information for Wilson County voters. Our goal is to continue to deliver innovative, cost effective services to inform and educate voters,” said Warren.

Through the use of technology, the Election Commission strives to be accountable to voters and candidates and provide resources that can be used to increase voter participation. www.WilsonVotes.com has become the preferred resource for election related information. Voter registration applications, change of address forms and instructions are easily downloadable from the website. Sample ballots, Early Voting updates, calendars and other election related information are, also, readily accessible on the website.

Voters with questions or who want more information about voting or elections are encouraged to contact the Election Commission by email at office@wilsonelections.com, visit the office at 203 East Main St., Lebanon or phone 615-444-0216. Voters interested in becoming poll officials may apply online at www.WilsonElections.com.
